VIDEO: Making choices based on mobility, not technology. #DepecheMode
Apparently, in the beginning of Depeche Mode's career they chose to go electronic (dropping the guitar and bass) because of convenience and the mobility electronic instruments afforded. Electronic synthesizers were "cheaper more portable and could be played anywhere". This observation fits well with my thesis that increased mobility (not necessarily technologies) will re-shape our societies.
